Illinois Taekwondo - Event

Black Belts that placed in the top four at Illinois State Championships are invited to attend ITSO State "Team Selection Events" and earn a spot on the Illinois State Team. This team is for Illinois residents only, if you were taken out of medal contention on May 1st by someone from out of state you may still have an opportunity to make the State Team!

State Team Trials consist of (3) Team Selection Events (TSE). The Board of Directors voted on (3) TSE's to offer an even playing field given the short notice and possible scheduling conflicts.

The first TSE is scheduled this Saturday 5/21/16 at ABBC 704 Oak Creek Drive in Lombard. Subsequent TSE's will be scheduled after USAT Nationals.

Juniors: 8:00am - 10:00am
Cadets: 10:30am - 1:00pm
Youth: 1:30pm - 3:30pm
These times are division START times and not report times. We are starting promptly at 8am! Please come early to warm up as needed!


ALL BLACK BELT sparring competitors, in the 3 divisions listed above, that placed at the 2016 Illinois State Championship are welcome to attend to earn their spot on the team! There will be NO automatic walk ons for athletes that did not have competitors at State. Participation at the TSE will be required for uncontested athletes at State.

This TSE will be a round robin format to rack up points.

Starting point values will be awarded based on the finish at State: 3 points for 1st Place, 2 points for 2nd Place, 1 point for each 3rd Place
Earn 1 point for each TSE you attend
Earn 1 point for each round robin match you win at the TSE
